As a child, digging in the family driveway for 'treasures', 're-designing' Grandma's jewelry, having a fascination with polished rocks, and always creating, definitely had a hand in Michelle finding her 'passion' as an adult!

And now she is continually in pursuit of knowledge and studies of gems, various metals, and semi-precious stones as well as new techniques and mediums.

Michelle's favorite colored gemstone is the pearl and she holds a Pearls Diploma and Pearl Grading Lab Certificate from the Gemological Institute of America
(
GIA).

She credits her sister, multi-media artist Marsha Hindman,
and several of her jewelry artist friends (WATE) with helping bring her artistic talents to the forefront and providing her with invaluable design skills and inspiration.

Michelle lives in Glendale, Arizona with her husband and son.

Artist Statement:

When I sit at my bench and create, a sense of wholeness comes over me and I know I'm exactly where I was meant to be.

My creative journey with jewelry began as a child when I would take my grandmother's jewelry and try to 're-design' it. And, in the late 80's  I designed earrings for myself and friends and I've been designing and creating jewelry ever since.

My lifelong fascination with pearls led me to earn my Pearls Diploma from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in 2006 and my recent collection of pearl jewelry, which mixes colors, shapes, sizes and materials, is fresh and fun, yet still classic and timeless!

In addition to pearls, I enjoy designing with many other gemstones, precious metals, and other materials!

I draw inspiration for my designs from the various moods brought on by different kinds of music, sights, sounds, tastes, and even aromas.

Through my designs I live my passion  - and that's pretty cool!
